All pieces are stained or painted
and then finished with a clear, satin, acrylic lacquer. The
pine tops and backsplashes are given several coats of satin
polyurethane for extra protection. These finishes are highly
resistant to water and alcohol based liquids, but we recommend
that all spills be wiped up immediately. Bright natural light,
reflected or direct sunlight or very low humidity can cause
changes in the pine that is used in these pieces. Knots, heavy
resin streaks, seasonal cracking are all natural
characteristics of pine products. As they age and are exposed
to light, especially sunlight, these characteristics can
become more a prominent part of the finish. This is a natural
process in pine furniture giving it an antique look.
Other ordering considerations
Our products are hand finished
and the color may vary slightly from piece to piece. We
recommend all "groupings" be ordered at the same time in order
to be finished with the same lot of paint or stain. In this
situation, specify on your order: "Finish to match and ship
complete only." This will ensure that all your pieces match
but may cause delays if we need to back order one or more
items.
All finishes are standard
antiqued and distressed.
Stain finishes are available, by
request, without antiquing and distressing. In this case, the
letter "A" should be omitted from the stain finish number and
a written notation, "NO DISTRESSING" made on the order.
Antiquing and distressing is
offered at one standard level. We cannot honor requests for
variations on the level of antiquing and distressing.
Hardware selection needs to be
specified on all orders before they can be processed. We can
also ship with out the hardware - please specify "no hardware"
on your order. |
